The Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival is a non-profit program created by the City of Amman in 2008 to further develop its cultural uniqueness & enhance its touristic offerings. The first festival was held in December 2008 and featured over 20 comedians and 5 sold out shows. This marked the first stand-up comedy festival in the history of the Middle East. 

Our 2008 Festival showcased comedians from Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, the United States, Australia and Canada and was headlined by international comedy superstar Russell Peters. 

The Festival also received extensive positive media coverage on TV networks and in publications across the Middle East, as well as in Europe, Canada and the United States. (To see all the media coverage, please visit our official website.)

As a result of the success of the 2008 Festival, we are excited to announce that the 2nd Annual Festival will be expanded to 7 nights and will be held December 4-10, 2009. This year we will present even more comedians from around the world.
