Shaikh Fahad Bin Jassim Al Thani

Chief Operating Officer – QtelCloseShaikh Fahad has a wealth of experience in the full cycle of telecommunications. He joined Qtel back in 1997 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) in May 2007. Sh. Fahad served as an Executive Director of Wireless Services since 2005, and prior to that he was the Senior Manager of Marketing, Wireless Services. He led the business planning, service development and marketing for Qtel’s Wireless services and was in charge of rolling out the GSM, GPRS, IP Telephony products and services and the launch of 3G in the country.
In addition, Sh. Fahad was appointed as the Acting Executive Director, Consumer Business and managed the Networks (Wireless & Wireline), Consumer Business, Business Solutions, International Services, Customer Services, General Services, BPO and PMO departments. Under his guidance, Qtel Wireless made significant progress in the development and marketing of GSM services in Qatar. The business unit services exceeded 100% market penetration in the market.
Sh. Fahad has a Bachelor of Engineering in Communications from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. He is also the Qtel representative on the Board of Directors for Nawras, Qtel’s subsidiary in Oman.

Sheikh Abdulrahman is also the Chairman and CEO of all companies within the ATCO group such as ATCO Divisions; East & West Express; Honeywell-Turki Arabia Limited; Larsen & Turbo ATCO Saudi Limited; Keller Turki Company Limited; Saudi United Construction Company; Arabian Business Forms Company; Redland Industrial Services (Arabia) Limited; ATCO Ports Management & Marine Services; East & West Factory; Saudi Company for Chemical Products (Al-Turki Chemical Factory); Office 1 Superstore; Sagr Al-Bayda’a for Trading Agencies Company Limited; Abraaj Healthcare & Commercial Investments Company; Abraaj Nas Commercial Investments Company.
Sheikh Abdulrahman is also the Chairman of Al Sagr Saudi Insurance Company E.C. based in Bahrain, Al Sagr Company for Co-operative Insurance in Saudi Arabia, Abraaj Capital Limited in the U.A.E and Dhahran International Exhibitions Company in Saudi Arabia.
He is the Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Specialist Hospital and board member of Investcorp along with Member of the Executive Committee for Administrative Policy and Member of the Audit Committee. He is also board member of Saudi International Petrochemical Company (SIPCHEM), Arab Investment Company in Egypt, Golden Pyramids Plaza Company in Egypt and Zara Investment (Holding) Company in Jordan.
Sheikh Abdulrahman is a member of the Executive Committee of the Saudi British Business Council, Founders’ Council of Prince Salman Institute for Disability Research, Saudi Arabia and Arab Institute of Navigation, Alexandria, Egypt.

Ziad Al Turki started off his career in his family run organization, A.A. Turki Group of Companies - ATCO Group, where he holds the position of Vice Chairman. The company has various divisions and companies under its belt including ports management and marine services; oil and gas equipment; electrical and construction materials; foods and restaurant franchises; insurance; travel and commercial agencies.
Companies under the group include East & West Express; Larsen & Turbo ATCO Saudia Limited; ATCO Ports Management & Marine Services Co.; Saudi Company for Chemical Products (Al-Turki Chemicals Factory); Abraaj Healthcare & Commercial Investments Co; ATCO Development Ltd both in the U.K. and the U.S.A.
Ziad is also a director on the board of Honeywell Turki Arabia Ltd., a joint venture between ATCO and Honeywell, Inc.; Keller-Turki Co. Ltd., a joint venture between ATCO and Keller Grundbau Gmbh; National Air Services Co. (NAS); ATCO Marine Services Limited, Bahrain; Al Sagr Saudi Insurance Co. E.C., Bahrain; Al Sagr Company for Co-operative Insurance, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Sagr Al-Bayda’a for Trading Agencies Co. Limited, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Among his other activities, Ziad is a board member of the Saudi Arabian Squash Federation. He is also the promoter and head of the organizing committee of the Saudi International Squash Tournament, Super Series Platinum, held annually in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Chief Financial Officer – QtelCloseFollowing a career spanning over 20 years in major international organizations including KPMG, Ernst & Young, Etisalat and W. R. Grace & Co., Ajay Bahri joined Qtel in 2003 as Head of Internal Audit. His role was to support the management to enhance control, risk management and governance processes including advising senior management on process improvement and policy matters.
Ajay was then appointed as the Executive Director of General Services in 2005. He was responsible for managing services that are shared across Qtel such as Information Technology, Accounting Services, Support Services (including Supply Chain / Facilities / Fleet Management), Building & Engineering Services and Personnel Services. Later in 2005, he took over the responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer, looking after the Group Investments, Treasury, Accounting Services, Financial Systems and Control, and Telecom Economics.
Ajay has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from India, a Master’s in Engineering (specializing in optimization of the supply chain) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and is certified as a Chartered Management Accountant, UK; Chartered Accountant, India and Certified Information Systems Auditor, USA. In addition to these qualifications, Ajay has Six Sigma (Process Improvement) experience at Project Leader level.
Ajay also sits on the board of Qtel’s GSM subsidiary in Maldives and is Chairman of the Board of Directors, wi-tribe Jordan.

Executive Director of Group Strategy – QtelCloseNick Dent joined Qtel back in 2003. He is currently the Executive Director of Group Strategy. Nick has lead a major exercise to create Qtel’s 20:20 strategy that intends to make Qtel one of the top 20 telecommunication company’s around the world by year 2020.
Nick has been responsible for overseeing Qtel’s recent acquisition and integration of Wataniya and Qtel’s investment into Asia Pacific. He is also a Board member for Navlink, Qtel’s JV with AT&T in the Middle East, Nedjma Qtel’s mobile operation in Algeria and Wataniya International, the management company for the Wataniya Group.
Nick’s background is as an Economist having graduated from Edinburgh University with a Master’s Degree in Economics. Prior to working at Qtel, Nick worked for McKinsey & Company as a Strategy Consultant. Nick moved to the Middle East in 2001 to help establish McKinsey’s telecom practice within the region. He has extensive experience in strategy in both telecoms and other utilities industries. His experience also includes working with CEO’s and Boards of Directors in areas such as strategic planning, performance management, transformation program delivery, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory work.
