Michael Hancock holds a French nationality. He obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from Insead in France in 1978 and doctorate in Law from the University of California in 1976, and was admitted to the Paris bar association.

Michael Hancock is Group General Counsel of Qtel International, a position he has held since January 2007. He previously was a partner at Salans law firm, in Paris and Istanbul, and was, prior to that, at Alcatel for seven years where he became General Counsel of Alcatel CIT.

He is also the Director in several companies in Qtel Group.
